Minneapolis Raceway to host Inaugural Late Model Special!

For the first time in its 4 year history the Minneapolis Raceway will host a special Late Model event on Saturday night September 19, 2009 in the season finale.

The MidwestDirt Late Model Series will sanction the 3/8 mile's first event, of which is a highly anticipated show. It will be the raceway's highest profile show to date with a good group of cars slated to converge on the track 15 minutes north of Salina on I-135.

Smith Doubles Up at Norton

Delbert "The Iceman" Smith made the most of his visit to the Norton County Fair over the July 25-26 weekend as he picked up not only 1 but 2 wins to add to his resume.

In his first visit to the track, Smith started at the back of his heat race on Saturday night and took the win, followed by the feature win as well. It was his first feature win in the MidwestDirt Late Model Series.

Elmwood Park Speedway Adds MDLMS Sanctioning for County Fair Late Model Special July 25-26

The Elmwood Park Speedway in Norton, Kansas has added MidwestDirt Late Model Series sanctioning for its County Fair Special on July 25-26. The special event will bring full powered Late Model racing to the big half mile for the first time in around 20 years.

The event will feature 2 full programs each day with $1,000 going to the feature winner. Starting pay will be $200 with a total purse of $11,500 based on 20 cars.

McAninch Flies to MDLMS Win at CVS


For the first time the MidwestDirt Late Model Series boasted a new winner June 13 at the Caney Valley Speedway. Wichita's Ryan McAninch made the most of his first trip to the 1/4 mile by taking the win on a lightning fast track.

Polesitter Ted Martin led the field to the green with Darrell Mooneyham to his outside. Mooneyham quickly took the lead and pulled away while Martin, Gary Gorby, Jimmy Segraves, and McAninch battled in the top 5. McAninch slowly started working his way to the front and by the halfway point was second as a caution flew for a spunout Zac Simmons in turn 4.

Comer Returns to Caney Valley Speedway Victory Lane

Chuck Comer of Joplin, Missouri had extra cause to celebrate on the holiday weekend as he took home the top prize for the second race in a row in MidwestDirt Late Model Series action at the Caney Valley Speedway.
