Coffeyville Rained Out....Again
This weekend's race at Mid-America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma has been canceled due to the heavy amount of rain. A reschedule date is still possible this year and we'll be sure to let everyone know when it is if we choose to reschedule. If not we will have an early show in 2010 at MAS.

Also don't forget about the rules meeting on the 7th in Hutchinson. Thank you to all of the folks who have called to talk to us on this. Remember these rules are not set in stone by any means yet, we want to see what we get for a response from the drivers before committing to a totally new set of rules and we'll know by the 7th where we're going for 2010!

Proposed Rules for 2010 Released; Meeting Set for November 7The first look at the new rules for the 2010 season can be seen here on the official website of the MidwestDirt Late Model Series by clicking on the link to the left entitled "2010 Proposed Rules". These rules will be discussed in an open meeting to any potential or current Late Model drivers for the upcoming season. This meeting will be held on November 7, 2009 at 2PM at the Sirloin Stockade in Hutchinson, Kansas. Feedback is highly appreciated, especially if you are unable to attend the meeting.
Iceman Goes Into Record Books with First Win at MinneapolisIn front of a huge crowd on a cool Saturday on September 19 Delbert "The Iceman" Smith wrote his name into the record books at the Minneapolis Raceway with a big win coming in the MidwestDirt Late Model Series feature event.
Smith grabbed the #1 spot in the redraw to start on the pole. He quickly took the lead at the start of the race and shook off a persistent Mike Wiarda throughout the first half of the race to stay at the point. Two quick yellows were pulled for Matt Buller early in the race but once, but was the race resumed it was smooth sailing for Smith as lapped traffic came into play. Rain Soaks MAS ShowWith 20 MidwestDirt Late Model Series cars sitting in the pits awaiting competition mother nature decided to steal the show and force a cancellation just prior to race time at the Mid-America Speedway.
An odd westerly moving storm wiped out a big night of competition at the Speedway. It was to be the first sanctioned race of the season, and now gives the series its third rainout out of 8 scheduled events so far this season. Mid-America Speedway Date Added for This Saturday!Officials with the Mid-America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and the MidwestDirt Late Model Series (MDLMS) have agreed to work together to provide fans a special Late Model show this Saturday night September 12 at the Mid-America Speedway.
The show will feature MDLMS Rules and Formats for the evening, which highlight the special 2150 lbs/12" spoiler weight class for Spec or crate motors. Open cars must use the 8" spoiler and weigh 2300 lbs. |
